Demand to contain growing cyber crimes

KARACHI: Founder of Madadgar National Helpline Zia Ahmed Awan on Wednesday said cyber crime cases were increasing in the country, which is a worrisome matter. Addressing a press briefing, he said Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and police were unable to tackle the increasing cyber crime due to lack of modern technology. He said they were preparing to file a petition in this regard. Awan added that laws and policies should be made and implemented to check cyber crimes, adding if action is not taken immediately Pakistan will face grave difficulties in the coming years. He said negative use of mobile phones, internet and computers was resulting in cases of uploading objectionable material on websites, and blackmailing of victims. agencies
