Dress shop owner urges online shopping safety

A DRESS shop owner is urging youngsters to be careful when shopping online.

Jenny Berriman, owner of Jeneveve on Colchester High Street, says she has had several customers visit after being stung by scam websites.

Mrs Berriman said her shop, which specialises in prom dresses, had been “inundated” with girls coming in after losing sometimes hundreds of pounds on the internet and wants to warn them to shop safely.

  • Advice from Essex County Council Trading Standards for shopping online includes checking companies have a physical address and landline number, any refund policies, and where possible using a credit card.
