Several students have admitted to hacking computers at Wilson Middle School, according to an email from the school.
The email states a “situation occurred” in one of the eighth-grade one-to-one classrooms involving computer security, compromising administrative passwords.
“After initial interviews, several students have admitted taking and using the administrative passwords,” the email reads. “Our concern at this point, relates to the grades being posted by teachers as the trimester ends.
“As a result, we will be keeping all laptops at Wilson over the weekend as we continue our investigation and decide on consequences after the holiday.”
The school is asking parents to have a conversation with their child about the implications of computer hacking, and welcome any additional information that may help it in keeping the learning environment safe and secure.
