Cyber security experts told state lawmakers this week that Michigan is leading the effort to protect people and infrastructure from cyber-attacks. The Senate Energy and Technology Committee heard the testimony, and State Senator John Proos says that he learned a few things about what’s been done to protect the personal information of Michigan residents.
Proos added that testimony this week revealed the majority of cyber attacks seek to uncover an individual’s personal and financial data which can then be sold to third parties.
